The Unisex National Anthem

Austria's minister (ministress?) of women's affairs wants to change the lyrics of our national anthem. In particular, all male-centric lines ("Heimat bist du großer Söhne"/"You are the home of great sons") should be replaced by gender-neutral phrases ("Heimat großer Töchter, Söhne"/"Home of great daughters, sons").
Now, it's always great to see that our government has apparently ran out of other problems to solve, and now the really tough issues can be tackled...

Back from Boston

Maria and I safely returned from Boston. I am still iPod-less. Otherwise, we really enjoyed the town. The conference was a bit of a disappointment. My talk went well, but the opportunities for networking at the conference were rare. The organizers really need to provide more spaces were people can get together. Round tables in the coffee break area would be a good start...

For pictures, see my photo album.

I have also uploaded two movies:

Sold Out :(

I went to the CambridgeSide Apple Store today to get myself an iPod nano as an early birthday present and guess what — the 4 gig model is already sold out. Damn. Not sure I want the 2 gig model they have in stock, so I'll wait and see if they get a new delivery until Thursday. I really hope so. At least Maria got a really cool looking notebook bag for her PowerBook.

Apart from that, Maria and I are really enjoying Boston. Great city. And the free WiFi in the hotel lobby is fine, too.
