Last weekend Maria and I went to see What The Bleep Do We Know?, after getting a recommendation for the film from a friend.
The film tries to build a link between quantum physics, biology and religion. It does this by combining a story with interviews and computer animation to visualize things.
The core message of the film seems to be that your thoughts create the world around you, so be careful what you think.
Probably not a film for everyone (including Maria and me, there was a total of four people sitting in the cinema), but nevertheless a film that makes you think.
Posted by guenter at August 2, 2006 02:51 PMI've heard about the film maybe a year or so ago from someone about whose opinion I did not care much. This post has prompted me to take a second look at the website. Although people like to mix religion/spirituality with science, I don't think it is appropriate. They are totally different fields and mixing them usually leads to a dead end road.
I'll make the effort to watch the film and come back with an opininion on it.
Mixing relgion and science is unappropriate? it leads to a dead end huh? if you havent noticed they both lead to a dead end as it is, one trys to describe the world without the possiblily of intellectual design, the other doesnt try to explain anything, it just tells you what is right, what is wrong and how things came about in 7 days. (in most case)If you have watched this movie and came to this assumption, then you may have watched it but you didnt listen to what was said.

As far as religion and science, your post confirms my theory - it is not wise to mix them. With an amendment: particularly true when dealing with people who are biased toward or against either.
