Jonathan Schwartz's Insights

Jonathan Schwartz posted some takeaways from a recent Sun Executive Advisory Council, this time targeted not at CxO's, but instead at IT architects and developers. A few highlights [with my unworthy remarks added]:

  • Free and Open Source Software is more alive than ever
  • Java is more alive than ever [who would have doubted that]
  • And C/C++ is alive and well [surprise surprise]
  • Web services may collapse under its own weight [my words]
  • [...] the single most important horizontal market segment for Sun to serve is, in fact... the developer [glad to hear that]

Only the anti-RedHat propaganda becomes a bit boring with the time...
